NICU Services

Focused on the Health & Wellbeing of Newborns & Their Families

Our 30-room Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the regional referral center for neonatal consultation and care of high-risk newborns. If your baby requires our services, we want you to know that our specially trained neonatologists, registered nurses, and therapists will go above and beyond to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Our Services

Family-Centered Care

Our NICU was designed with family-centered care in mind. We allow parents and grandparents to visit anytime, day or night, and strongly encourage family members to participate in caregiving and treatment planning as often as possible.

All Private Rooms

We only offer private rooms for our most fragile newborns. Private rooms foster more bonding, healing, and growth, reduce the risk of infection and ensure complete confidentiality for our families and medical staff.

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms

When families need to be close to their NICU babies, we offer them the comfort and convenience of the Ronald McDonald Family Room – the only facility of its kind in the region, featuring beautiful guest rooms, lounges, a kitchen, and Wi-Fi.

Children’s Miracle Network

The Children’s Miracle Network plays an important role in ensuring that we deliver the best care possible to our NICU babies. Our local network helps us purchase medical equipment, provide continuing education, and promote awareness of programs that benefit children across the region.

Advanced Features

Giraffe Beds

These state-of-the-art beds can serve multiple functions, including radiant warmer, incubator, or open bed/crib.

Cooling Blanket

This system is used to induce therapeutic hypothermia, which is currently the only accepted therapy for birth asphyxia.

24-hour Integrated Amplitude EEG Monitoring

Our NICU has the ability to monitor your baby’s brain waves continuously to detect seizure activity or abnormal brain activity.

24-hour Trans-Cutaneous CO2 Detectors

Allows immediate changes in ventilator parameters and management of the infant when sudden changes occur decreasing the need for blood draws.

Conventional to High Frequency Jet Ventilators

We utilize all types of ventilators and have the most knowledgeable group of respiratory therapists in the region covering the NICU 24-hours a day.

High Flow Nasal Cannula

This non-invasive treatment of respiratory distress decreases the need for mechanical ventilation and eliminates complications associated with older systems.

Inhaled Nitric Oxide Therapy

This therapy is used to treat pulmonary hypertension and is currently under evaluation for the prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants.

Fully Computerized Medical Records

Our new medical records system allows our multidisciplinary teams and referring physicians to request and access your baby’s medical records from any location.

Bedside Digital Imaging

Your baby’s X-ray can be viewed instantaneously at the bedside using our advanced imaging equipment allowing immediate treatment and follow-up as needed.

On-site Blood Gas Monitoring

Allows near immediate results and changes in management.

NICU Transport

Our NICU team can travel to any hospital in the region using ground-based ambulances.
