The Family Health Clinic is a community-based medical home that provides
healthcare services for every member of the family. Services include Pediatrics,
Family/Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and OB/GYN.
Financial assistance and sliding scale payments available.
Patient Education
Prevention and education play a key role in our clinic and are always discussed
during patient visits.
Affordable Healthcare
It is our goal to provide healthcare that is accessible and affordable
to all patients. We use a sliding scale fee schedule and provide several
types of financial assistance programs (described below).
Family Assistance Plans: The clinic has sliding scale discounts for medical
services based on household size and income.
Prescription Assistance Program: Provide assistance for qualifying patients
to receive free prescription drugs directly from the pharmaceutical companies.
Social and Financial Services
Social Services are available at FHC for established patients. We employ
financial counselors who work through a network of local and regional
agencies to find resources to assist patients with referrals to specialists,
prescriptions, medical equipment, home health, and other necessary services.
Teaching Partnerships
The Family Health Clinic is a teaching facility that allows students to
conduct clinical rotations in the areas of Nursing, Physician Assistant,
Nurse Practitioner, X-ray Technician, LVN, and Medical Assistant.
Literacy and Prevention
The FHC is dedicated to promoting literacy and prevention through community
outreach activities such as presentations and newsletters directed to
ECISD schools, community organizations, and senior centers among others.
Community Involvement
The Family Health Clinic is dedicated to serving our community through
various activities, such as our annual Community-Wide Flu Clinic and our
Healthy Kids Fun Day. We’re also actively involved with Volunteer
Services, West Texas Food Bank, Senior Centers, Meals on Wheels and many
more worthy causes.
Community Health Needs Assessment
Demonstrating Community Need
As part of the Public Health Service Act, federally qualified health centers
(FQHCs) and FQHC Look-Alikes are required to complete a Community Health
Needs Assessment (CHNA) as stated under the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration’s
(HRSA) 19 Key Health Center Program Requirements. In 2022 and again in
2025, a CHNA was conducted for the Family Health Clinic in conjunction
with Medical Center Hospital. The CHNA report is a comprehensive assessment
of the identified health needs in Ector County, Texas.
The analyses include a careful review of the most current health data available,
demographics and input from numerous community representatives. The process
culminates in the development of an Implementation Plan to address the
significant needs identified through the CHNA. The CHNA and Implementation
Plan report was presented to and approved by the Family Health Clinic
Board on July 31, 2025. The Family Health Clinic will utilize its 2025
plan as a guide over the next three years to offer programs that support
the health of the community and the mission of the organization.
