Outpatient Services

Printer-friendly versionSend to friendPDF version

Medical Center Hospital (MCH) offers a variety of services on an outpatient basis including diagnostic testing, lab work, rehabilitation therapy, sleep studies and surgery.  Outpatient services are provided with the same high level of care with the added benefits of flexibility, easy access and reduced cost to the patient.

All outpatients who require laboratory tests from the facility may use the Laboratory Drawing area located in the Outpatient Center. The Laboratory offers over 700 separate tests on-site and can access another 500 tests via an extensive nationwide laboratory network.

Outpatients may benefit from the physical, occupational and speech therapy provided by the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of MCH.  This department also offers wound care on an outpatient basis

Medical Center Hospital offers a complete cardiac rehabilitation program designed to help patients with heart disease recover quicker and return to a full and active lifestyle.

Surgery once offered with an overnight hospital stay and extended recovery period can now be safety performed in a day in our Ambulatory Surgery Unit.  Overnight stays for the purpose of sleep studies are also offered in the MCH Lab for Sleep Disorders.

Regardless of whether your physician has provided you with written orders, or has elected to phone your orders directly to MCH, all patients must first register before receiving services.  We encourage you to call ahead of time and pre-register.  This will reduce your wait time when you come for your exam, procedure or initial treatment.   Also, ask your physician's office if your insurance requires pre-certification.    Pre-certification must be performed by your doctor's office prior to the exam, not at the time of registration.

You also may complete our on-line registration form for even faster service.    If you are planning to register on-line, someone in our Admitting/Registration department will be in contact with you within one day of completing your form unless it is a weekend.  In those cases, you will be contacted by the end of the next business day.  Please do  not go directly to the department or nursing unit.
