MCH CEO Elected to Statewide Position

William W. “Bill” Webster, FACHE, chief executive officer of Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, has been elected chairman-elect of the Texas Hospital Association’s 2010 Board of Trustees. Webster takes office January 1, 2010 and will assume the role of chairman on January 1, 2011. He will serve as chairman of the Association during the next state legislative session; during which, significant health care budget issues will be debated.

Webster has served as the chief executive officer of Medical Center Hospital since 2000, and has more than 32 years of health care experience. Prior to coming to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, he served as a hospital chief executive officer for Tenet Health System in Phoenix, Baptist Health System in San Antonio, Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, N.M., and HCA in El Paso.

In addition to his appointment to the Texas Hospital Association Board of Trustees, Webster serves as a member of numerous professional and civic organizations, including, as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Teaching Hospitals of Texas, VHA Texas, Texas Tech University Health Science Center Permian Basin Advisory Council, and the American State Bank Advisory Board.

Webster is a graduate of Walla Walla University in Washington, and he obtained his master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Loma Linda University in California.
