Stroke Sense

May is Stroke Awareness Month. In an effort to highlight our nation’s third leading killer, and number one cause of long term disability, Medical Center Hospital and Spirit of Women host an annual stroke seminar. Stroke: Age is NOT a Factor is well attended by a diverse group of various ethnicities and ages. The program helps participants understand various types of strokes, recognize signs and symptoms, and gain empowerment to understand and communicate treatment options with their healthcare providers. Because time lost is brain lost, learning to recognize a stroke can make a difference for you or someone you love.
