The mission of our Telemetry Units (4 Central & 9 Central) is to deliver care in a genuine, respectful manner to the community we serve. Our team is devoted to provide exceptional care based upon compassion, dignity, integrity and service. The focus of our units is to provide a patient-centric environment that promotes healing. We are staffed with a team of dedicated health care professionals, experienced in acute care and committed to delivering high-quality care. We strive to meet the needs of each patient and their family. 4 Central specializes in the treatment of patients experiencing signs and symptoms of cardiac disease or conditions that threaten cardiac stability. Our primary scope of care includes treatment of angina, cardiac arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythms), acute pulmonary edema, congestive heart failure (CHF), patients recovering from coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty or coronary stent placements, insertion of permanent pacemaker or Automated Internal Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) placement, patients who have undergone Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG), heart valve replacement surgery and those recovering from myocardial infarction (heart attack). 9 Central focuses on vascular and medical conditions often requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Our primary scope of care focuses on the rapid treatment of cerebral vascular accidents (CVA) -- Stroke or “Brain Attack” -- and transient ischemic attack (TIA) -- “warning stroke” or “mini-stroke” -- to prevent or substantially minimize debilitating injuries. Additional services regularly include treatment of infectious diseases, respiratory distress due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and renal failure. Participation in programs such as StrokeSense® and The American Heart Association - Get With the Guidelines (Stroke) makes Medical Center Hospital your hospital and your choice for comprehensive stroke care. |
