Ultrasound
![]() |
Medical Center Hospital offers ultrasound services which are accredited by the American College of Radiology. Ultrasound is also referred to as a sonogram and/or sonography. Ultrasound utilizes high frequency sound waves to image various areas of the body. It is the method of choice to image a fetus as there are no known side effects to ultrasonography. During the procedure, a warm gel will be placed on the skin and a transducer will be moved of the skin to produce images. Ultrasound is painless to the patient and the average exam length is 30 minutes. Outpatient ultrasound is available during the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A written physician's order and an appointment are required for an ultrasound procedure. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (432) 640-1801. Should you have questions about your specific exam, our ultrasonographers are glad to provide you with the information. You may reach the Ultrasound Department at (432) 640-1288. |
