Medical Center Hospital invites expectant parents to attend Childbirth Preparation Classes.  All of our classes are taught by lead instructors who are Certified Childbirth Educators.  Each session consists of six (6) classes which occur on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the MCH Auditorium.  Note:  some classes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings, see schedule at bottom of this page.)

Here's what you may expect to learn in each class:

Class 1:  Introduction to infant care. Learn how to take care of your new addition to your family. We will cover a brief introduction to infant CPR
tonight.

Class 2:  Breastfeeding: Feeding your little one can be a wonderful experience, but also a challenging one. Let us help you be prepared for this beautiful gift to your child.  Tour of MCH at the finish of this class!!

Class 3:  Labor: (How do I know if this is it)?  All those discomforts, what can I do to make them better?  Induction (Is it for me)?  C-section (If I need one what will I need to know)?

Class 4:  Pain medication choices (How do I decide what I want from all those choices)  Postpartum care: What can I expect after my baby is born? How will I take care of me?  Introduction to breathing techniques.

Class 5:  Car Seat Safety Perinatal Yoga (learn massage techniques to
make you feel better during the last trimester and during labor).

Class 6:  Wrap up session: Tonight learn to breath, bring your pillows. (You just thought you knew how to breath before now).
