Dr. Davenport is originally from
northeastern Ohio. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology at the
Ohio University. He continued at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic
Medicine and graduated with his degree in 1995. He completed a year of
internship in Columbus, Ohio then moved to Michigan. He completed his general
surgery residency through Michigan State University and graduated in 2000.
In August, 2000 he began private
practice in Odessa, Texas. Since this time he has been affiliated with Medical
Center Hospital and Odessa Regional Hospital. He has also been fortunate enough
to provide medical care for a time in Monahans, Texas.
In May of 2003, in a coordinated effort
with Medical Center Hospital, Dr. Davenport began working to establish the
Medical Center Hospital Bariatric Program. His laparoscopic bariatric training
allows for minimally invasive surgical procedure. Along with support from Ethicon Endo-instruments he hopes to provide a much needed
medical service to the Permian Basin.
